Reconciliation by Rescue Alfred Harrell Copyright 2012
The interior of the small house was blackened with the smoke of the recently extinguished fire as the rookie firefighter and his captain hurriedly searched for the people neighbors had said were still inside. Within moments of reaching a bedroom at the rear of the house the captain screamed out to the rookie firefighter over the crackling of recently extinguished embers and the muffled sounds of the other firefighters who had enter the house that was once a home for his teammate to take the tiny body of the little boy he had found and exit the building.It was at that minute in time when time seemed to stand still like the sun setting on a hazy day that the rookie firefighter became reconciled with the rescuer he had been trained to be; it was at that minute that the little boy who had fallen near deaths’ door was given a second chance at life due the unconditional love of a man who willing to give his life if necessary too save the life of another.
Today we, people of all types of backgrounds and situations, through technology live in a world this is becoming smaller day by day like that small house, a house filled with fire and smoke that was set ablaze by an enemy of humankinds creator and extinguished to the point of burning ember awaiting the final rescue of human beings from that near death experience which occurred in a garden lifetimes ago.
Genesis 3:1-6
"1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, "Did God really say, 'You must not eat from any tree in the garden'?" 2 The woman said to the serpent, "We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, 3 but God did say, 'You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.' " 4 "You will not surely die," the serpent said to the woman. 5 "For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil." 6 When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.”
Thankfully the sound of a rescuer appeared almost at the beginning of this fall: “Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the LORD God among the trees of the garden.”-Genesis 3:8
John 1:1-3,10 “1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made and verse 10 gives us a little more information about this rescuer when it states, “He was in the world, and though the world was made through him.”
The Bible book of Job informs us that this house fire that challenges to humans future existence was not completely resolved with the appearance of the Word of God in the Garden of Eden.
Job 1:1,6-12
“1 In the land of Uz there lived a man whose name was Job. This man was blameless and upright; he feared God and shunned evil.’
"6 One day the angels came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came with them. 7 The LORD said to Satan, "Where have you come from?" Satan answered the LORD, "From roaming through the earth and going back and forth in it." 8 Then the LORD said to Satan, "Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil." 9 "Does Job fear God for nothing?" Satan replied. 10 "Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land. 11 But stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face." 12 The LORD said to Satan, "Very well, then, everything he has is in your hands, but on the man himself do not lay a finger." Then Satan went out from the presence of the LORD.”
At this point two things are becoming quite clear: First of all Almighty God is not the source of humankind suffering though he allows it and secondly the symbolic fire which is trying choke out the breath of life, first breathed into Adam originated with the stifling smoke of the one known as Satan. In spite of Job loyalty as well as the loyalty of countless other people to GOD throughout time the great fire starter of our adversities will always fail to extinguish our life in the spiritual sense or our hope of salvation as long as we pay heed to the following admonition.
James 5:7-11 states:“7 Be patient, then, brothers, until the Lord's coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop and how patient he is for the autumn and spring rains. 8 You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord's coming is near. 9 Don't grumble against each other, brothers, or you will be judged. The Judge is standing at the door! 10 Brothers, as an example of patience in the face of suffering, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. 11 As you know, we consider blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job's perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy.”
Satan from the time of creation until now still under estimates the faith of humans as well as the skills of humankinds rescuer and life restorer as stated in Hebrews 11:1-3, 13, 24-28 (Read Hebrews 11:1-3)
“1 Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. 2 This is what the ancients were commended for. 3 By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.
Verse 13 “All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance. And they admitted that they were aliens and strangers on earth.
Verses 24-28 “By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh's daughter. 25 He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a short time. 26 He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward. 27 By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the king's anger; he persevered because he saw him who is invisible. 28 By faith he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of blood, so that the destroyer of the firstborn would not touch the firstborn of Israel.”
Finally my dear readers, this time, our time when some many persons are denying GODS existence or trying to distort his instructions for us the crowning glory of his creation with smokescreens and glowing embers we should hold even more tightly to the lord of our reconciliation and rescuer, Jesus Christ just as stated in Hebrews 4:14-16. “14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are--yet was without sin. 16 Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”
